It has been quite sometime since I updated our blog last. It goes to show how much I really care for it, huh?! I figured I would do as quick of an update I can on what has gone on this past year for Con and me!
I have been finishing up my masters degree. I am taking on more of a course load to be done by November this year. Conrad is now starting to apply for CRNA schools so once we know where we are going I will start a job search. I am hoping to teach online through BYU-Idaho and get a job wherever we end up. Our first choice is obviously California since we would be close to family and friends, but I know the decision isn't entirely up to us. (Although life would be a heck of a lot easier if it was!)
This last December we were busy scraping snow on a HUGE driveway about 3-4 times a day. I AM NOT KIDDING. I work afternoons so on days or nights that Conrad worked He would be able to get out of the driveway but wouldn't have 2-3 hours to spare to clear it for me. So I would get up, clear the driveway, go back inside to make sure I was still alive and could feel like fingers, toes, nose and ears, then I would go do it again before I went to work. I often got stuck on our street but the best part about living in Idaho is everyone has a truck! So someone would usually help dig me out. I got to know a lot of older, kind gentlemen. This lasted from December to mid February. IT WAS AWFUL. I even had an amazing birthday getaway for Conrad to Jackson Hole. But because the weather was horrible and there was a huge storm, we decided to not go. This was a good decision since we got stranded there once before. I was also able to go with my two little sisters down to SLC and meet up with mom for the christmas devotional and endless shopping! I love, love, love Christmas time and I love Temple Square Christmas lights! Thankfully we didn't have awful weather.... but we returned to feet of snow and wind that blows more than 50 mph. Its time like these when I really appreciate that I grew up in Southern California where we only have one season: Sunshine allllll the freaking time. Nonetheless I survived because I had one thing to look forward to: A mexcio cruise for 7 days!
Conrad and I easily got addicted to the traveling life and decided to book another cruise. But this time we booked it with his brothers and sisters. We all met in Southern California at my parents house and boarded the miraculous cruise ship. To say we had an amazing time would be the understatement of the year. I love family and I love vacation, warm days, swimming and endless food. What could be better? I laughed harder than I had in a long time and I even cried! (Mostly because I missed my poor little dog back home. Pathetic I know. But it was only once.) We had a blast! We spent two days in Cabo where we laid on beaches, saw some wildlife, snorkeled and ate the most amazing mexican food. We then headed toward Puerto Vallarta where we spent the day hiking and zip lining over the most amazing views! I cannot say enough how much fun we had! If money and jobs weren't an issue, I could spend my life traveling and cruising!
Before we left, Conrad and I had moved from his aunt and uncles house to the best, cutest apartment. It was truly a miracle that we found it and scored it! We moved in right before we left for the cruise and it was SO STRESSFUL. But we love it and wouldn't change it! In between coming back from our cruise and now we have been busy with school, watching the bachelor, never ending work, and fixing up projects and purchasing adult-y things. Conrad and I celebrated our two years on being married in April. Time flies when you are having fun! We also celebrated my 23rd birthday at the end of April. May flew by! My parents came up and visited and we had a huge Butler Family reunion up in Drigss, ID where my mom grew up. It was great to see family we haven't seen in a while and all be together again. Now it is June and I still don't know where the last of 2017 has gone?!
We have some amazing summer plans and cannot wait for warmer weather and warmer water! I got called as the assistant camp director in my ward so that will keep me busy until August! I think the most exciting thing that has happened since I wrote last was the cruise. That was a majority of this "update."
