August, September and (what we have of) October have been nothing short of adventure for us! Conrad is now working in the ICU and I had a part time job while starting my internship. For those of you who don't know what my internship is, I will tell you! I am quite excited about it because I can already see what a difference I can make! I am doing my internship with Citizens for Decency - A Fight Against Pornography. Check out the Facebook page! Its interesting to see science behind how our minds work and where how Christ can help us overcome addiction!
In August, Conrad and I took a weekend trip down to Layton, UT. We had an awesome stay at our hotel as well as went to Lagoon, checked out the mall and went to a movie in style and comfort! I don't think anything will top that movie experience! Everyone always says, 'its the little things that mean the most.' As much as I know that is true, it is the bigger things that strengthen my testimony in the gospel and allows me to step back and see how wonderful my life really is. Shortly after, Conrad moved floors in the hospital and is loving every second of it!
September brought another road trip to California! Although I keep telling Conrad that if we just move back to California then we wouldn't have to endure these 14 hour drives... I guess he doesn't seem to mind them too much! We went to Sea World, the beach, hit up the malls (again), the swap meets and many pestering conversations of convincing Conrad to play chess with me. I have been to Sea World a million times, that I practically have all of the shows memorized. I could probably be one of the trainers. (haha just kidding) It was so fun to see Conrad loving every second of it. Madison, my little sister, came with us to the beach and it was so much fun!
Now that October is finally here, we can enjoy even more! October and April are my two favorite months. April because I was born and married in April and everything good happens in that month! October because its the 6th month to April, duh and because that is when I know that Fall has begun and shortly after it will be Thanksgiving and Christmas, which are also my favorites! It will be Conrad and mines first holidays together and I cannot wait to start our own traditions as well as carry on our families!
April and October are also the two months our of the year that the LDS Church has General Conference. If you want to know more about that you can go to lds.org to look and search for yourself! Today was the last day of General Conference and I cannot express my love for this gospel enough! Pure happiness can be received through the gospel as well as many of your answers, divinity and love.
Over the last year and especially since I have been married I have noticed my testimony getting stronger and stronger. There is NO doubt in my mind that we have a very loving Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ. They know us personally and they want us to know them personally. I may not have all of the answers to questions and I may not know what the future holds. But I do know this: I have more faith in my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ than in men. There is no reason whatsoever to stop believing or having faith simply because you think another member, friend, or past history is mislead. There is no wrong in having questions about the gospel. But there could be something wrong when you start to doubt your faith rather than doubt your doubts. I know that it is easier said than done, but General Conference is the perfect time to be edified in the gospel and strive to be better. There is more than one thing to learn for yourself. I have seen that members of the church are all on different pages in the gospel. We aren't all meant to be on the same page, but we are meant to be in the same book. It is saddening to personally see that members of the church are falling away because they are more perceived in the ideologies of men than they are in God. They want to be apart of society and not part of spirituality. To each their own I guess. But I know that Thomas S. Monson is the true prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I will follow him and I will sustain him. Always. This may not always be popular and I am okay with that. Because I know that the only way I can be with my family for eternity and have pure happiness, is through this gospel. I love all the blessings and trials that it brings! I know it, I live it, I love it!
